Ornithological camps enhanced the regional cooperation on bird protection on regional level

Within last eight months, Center for Protection and Research of birds, Preservation and Protection of Natural Environment in Albania, Macedonian Ecological Society and Ornithological society „Naše ptice" jointly implement the project „Birds Without Borders-BWB" which was supported by Western Balkans Fund, aiming to boost cooperation between Western Balkans 6 members, to strengthen relations and regional cohesion, and to advance integration into the European Union.



Within the project, four regional ornithological camps where implemented, where participated 54 students and researchers from Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Kosovo and Albania. Camps where implemented at the important bird area along Adriatic Flyway such as: Shar Mountain in Macedonia, Kupresko field in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ulcinj salina in Montenegro, and national park Divjake-Karavasta in Albania.

The joint cooperation resulted with establishment of the Alliance "Birds Without Borders" which was formalized by signing the joint MoU.
